Morningstar Farms

Morningstar Farms products play a big part in vegetarian's lives. They make all varieties of "meat." This company makes veggie burgers, chik'n, veggie dogs, meal starters, breakfast products, and snacks. "Morningstar farms is a division of the Kellog company that produces vegetarian food. It is currently the largest vegetarian food producer in the united states" (Morning Star Farms). Most of these products taste exactly like the real thing. You would never know that they are made from soy, and what a great thing soy is. Abi from the heateat review site says: "I hesitate to write about these vegetarian sausage patties. It isn't because I think you'll run to the nearest Trader Joe's to buy them. No I'm worried that my fiance will read this review and finally learn that the breakfast sausage we ate throughout the winter was actually made of soy" (Abi). Marvo says: "The Morningstar Farms Hickory BBQ Riblets may look like the porky patty found in a McRib, but despite the fact, I really did enjoy these veggie riblets. If you're expecting them to taste like pork ribs, you will be dissappointed, but they do look like meat on the outside and inside" (Marco).
Some say they do taste like real meat and some say they don't. I for one think that they do. I even find them more appetizing than actual meat. They are low in calories. Plus, the are high in protien and low in fat. Theres 0 cholestrol and no feeling guilty after you eat Morningstar. Did I mention low in calorie?? Hello person who wants to lose weight while still eating tasty foods!
I'm just saying being a vegetarian is healthy, and has so many benefits. With the help of morningstar products it can be super easy. Also cheaper than buying real meat. Stop with the fast food from McDonalds and go get yourself some morningstar!

What Do Vegetarians Eat?

Vegetarian Times studies show that 7.3 million Americans are vegetarians, and an additional 22.8 million follow a vegetarian-inclined diet (Vegetarianism in America). This number is increasing rapidly since this study was shown one year ago. Vegetarianism to some kids is becoming the "cool" thing to do. It is kind of an image thing that they uphold. The whole hippie theme. The "save the planet, and care for the world" deal has become really popular this year especially. We see signs and slogans about "going green" everywhere now. Vegetarianism has become very well known throughout the years. But why hasn't the rest of the world joined in? Maybe it's because they aren't educated on it. Or because they like the taste of meat too much to give it up. All I know is that people need to wake up and realize what they are doing to they're bodies.

Another explanation for people not to be vegetarian is that they don't know what exactly to eat. I know one of the main questions I have been asked throughout my experience is "What do you eat?!" Some people think that being a vegetarian means that you eat strictly vegetables. That is not the case at all. You can eat everything and anything..except meat. Think about it. Anything but steak, ham, bacon, chicken, fish, bologna, hamburger patties. You all know what meat is.

There are so many tasty things that replace the meat you would normally eat. Just look at the morning star or boca products. The food companies have ready food already made, just stick it in the oven. Yes, you do have to eat vegetables. But you would have to normally eat vegetables if you are a meat eater too. Isn't that all part of being healthy though?

Some may say that it is not satisfying to be a vegetarian when you have already had meat all of your life. For me, this is not true. With the products made, you can't even taste the difference.

Why go veg? "You'll ward off diseases, keep your weight down, live longer, build strong bones, help reduce pollution, spare animals, and you'll have more energy (Why Go Veg)." So I ask you, why not?

If the majority of America became vegetarian

America is fat, we've all heard this before. We talk about it, but nothing is being done about it. Places like McDonalds with they're big mac's, and super sizing methods, don't seem to care about health. But what if they made more of they're meals vegetarian? Meat has a lot to do with fat. All of the grease, and the way its cooked plays a big part in it too. But if we replaced hamburger patties with veggie patties? They would take the majority of the calories served right off. America would be healthier.

It's so easy to just go through a drive-thru and get something to eat real fast. But Vegetarians don't have that option. The only places vegetarians can go to are taco bueno for the "black bean" burrito, or subway for the "veggie delight." Very limited choices. Making more vegetarian options on menus would be easier for everyone. Especially those who are on a diet. Remember "You are what you eat (McKeith)."

If all of North American became vegetarian "The US would save enough water to supply 6 states- Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine รข€“ with enough water to last 4 months (Doctor Solve)!!"

"Not only would we save water, but 1.5 BILLION pounds of crops, 70 million gallons of gas (which by the way would fuel all the cars in both Canada and Mexico), 3 million acres of land, 33 tonnes of antibiotics, and $70 million in economic damages(Doctor Solve)."

"225 million tonnes of soy is produced every year to feed the animals that we breed, so if we stopped eating meat, there would be enough food & grain saved to feed 1.5 billion starving people with 3 pounds of food a day (Doctor Solve)."

So many great things could happen if we all just stopped eating bad. It's hard I know. But think about it. Make the change, try it out for a week.

What is a Vegetarian?

If you didn't already know, "a vegetarian is a person who does not eat or does not believe in eating meat (vegetarian)." But being a vegetarian doesn't mean you only eat vegetables all the time. There are lots of other choices, like: soy, wheat, fruit, beans, rice, sweets, etc.. It is a very healthy diet, as long as you go about it in the right way. For instance; eating chips, or sweets, like ice cream all the time is not the way to go.

Some people might get vegetarians and vegans mixed up. So let me make that clear: A vegetarian, is someone who doesn't eat meat. A vegan is someone who doesn't eat anything that comes from animals; For example: eggs, milk, and cheese. But there are a lot of different views on what a vegetarian is. "Different people follow different forms of vegetarianism. A true vegetarian eats no meat at all, including chicken and fish. A lacto-ovo vegetarian eats dairy products and eggs, but excludes meat, fish, and poultry. It follows, then, that a lacto vegetarian eats dairy products but not eggs, whereas an ovo vegetarian eats eggs but not dairy products (Gavin)."

That may seem hard, transitioning from a meat eater to a vegetarian or vegan. But to me, it is definitely well worth is to be healthy.
